:: Rev. Fr. George Cheeramkuzhi::

Fr.George Cheeramkuzhy was born as the son of Mr.Joseph and Eli Cheeramkuzhy in 1958 at Edamaruku in the Meenachil Taluk Kottayam District of Kerala, India.

Young George studied primary education at St.Antony’s U.P School Edamaruku. After having matriculated from MDCMS High School, Irumapramattom. He joined the Good Shepherd Minor Seminary,Palai. Thereafter he was grromed for priesthood at St.Thomas Apostolic Major Seminary Vadavathoor, Kottayam.

After having had his Diploma in Philosophy he took his Bachelors Degree in Theology from the Pontifical Oriental Institute of Religious Studies and was ordained priest on the 1st of January 1985 in the Diocese of Palai.

He was then appointed as the Assistant Vicar of St.Geroge’s Church Koottikal and St.Mary’s Forance Church, Kuravilangadu. He was then appointed as the Vicar of St.Joseph’s Church Eezhanganam and St.Mary’s Church Nellaappaara.

Since 4th February 1994 Fr.George served the St.Berthelomew Church Kalyan East and St.Thomas Church Borivli as the Parish Priest.

For the next 3 years he was the Zonal Vicar for the Borivli.

During his priestly ministry Fr.george took his Masters in English Literature from the University of Kerala and Bachelor of Education from the University of Mumbai.

He is a widely travelled man and his foreign itineraries so far took him to USA, UK, France, Italy, Canada, Israel, Egypt, Baharain, Dubai, Abu-Dabi, Sharjah and Sri Lanka. He has served as the Parish Priest at St. pauls Church Ullas Nagar since 4th Feb 2002 and St.Thomas Church Ambarnath and Badalapur.

Since 2004 he is serving at St. Stepehn’s Church, Manor Park and was working for the various communities of the Syro Malabar Catholic Church in and around London.

In November 2005 he was officially appointed as the Chaplain for the Syro Malabar Catholic Church in the Diocese of Brentwood.

Fr.George is a very committed, educated and simple priest. He is always involved in dynamic ministry. He was found very helpful to the community and is kind.
